Fun Fact: Disney’s “Frozen” technically took over 75 years to complete, from the first ideas to the final film. Walt Disney recognized the great potential of the Hans Christian Andersen’s story “The Snowqueen” as far back as 1937 (before “Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs” was released). However, the original tale is very dark and they just couldn’t figure out how to make it fit for contemporary audiences. Over the years people tried again and again, but it didn’t work. Finally the directors of “Frozen” decided to make the plot revolve around 2 sisters, and to give the Snowqueen (i.e. the older sister) very human qualities. That brought the breakthrough.

I get from this development that:

A. Good ideas can take time
B. Making something more “relatable/human” in art is not an “impure/lowly” thing but a good thing.
