It took a long time, but at last, it is finished: I took an old camping mat and scrap fabric and turned them into a muppet character! One of my followers on Instagram suggested the name, so I’m calling him “Theodor”. He’s got a classic puppet mouth, as well as arm rods, so you can move those separately. The fabric scraps and foam mat were simple enough to source, but other parts required a little more creativity: The arm rods are cut and bent straight from an old lampshade wire frame. The arm rod handles are cleaned and sanded pieces of fire wood. And the eyes are made from the bottom parts of plastic pill containers. There are things I’d do better next time. But overall, I love my puppet! I even did a little test video, to see him in action. It’s not so easy to film a puppet properly. But you get an idea of Theodor in action. It was, indeed, a fun way to bring trash to life!
