Last Friday was my last day of school for the semester, which means that summer vacation can begin! I had to take 10 exams/tests this semester, so I am definitely ready for a break. Apart from one assignment, I have until mid-October to do non-school things!

I will be doing lots of things, but I started my summer vacation off by painting my giraffe with a base coat and by cleaning up the art room. One of the major messes was an open straw bale from a workshop I taught last spring. So to contain the straw, I formed some of it into a straw cat figure and put the rest in a moving box.

I am visiting my parent’s house and am enjoying their garden. The hammock, the sun, and the plants are all really inviting. I am excited for the weeks ahead and for the rest as well. In that sense, happy Summer!
