Ecosia and an Art Exhibit!

Ecosia is a search engine much like Google that uses the majority of their earnings to plant trees and support the ecologically sustainable development of land. If you want to do something for the environment while searching the web, this is good news for you. (www.ecosia.org) So, since I like what they do, I’ve made them my search engine. Then, about 2 weeks ago, I participated in one of Ecosia’s simple online surveys about user experience. When I got to the end of it, they asked if I was willing to answer more questions or help them improve their site in other ways. Then, something potentially important and equally unspectacular happened: I checked “yes”.

2 days later, I got an email from one of Ecosia’s employees in Berlin with an invitation to a “focus group” on zoom. They had invited a handful of other users to talk with Ecosia employees and share experiences and ideas. So, another 2 days later, I was sitting in a zoom conference meeting with people from India to the Netherlands, talking about the future of a company I truly admire for their social and environmental impact. As a thank you, I got a free T-shirt from the Ecosia store. Since I am especially invested in Africa, I got the shirt with the African woman on it. Fits great! And who knows what this simple contact will do: It could lead to a business partnership or other kind of cooperation with my future ministry!

Then, this Saturday, I drove with my dad to my school in Ewersach to get some paintings: I’ll participate in an art exhibit next weekend! It will be part of the “Künstlernacht” in Darmstadt, from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon in the orangery in Darmstadt. It will be different from a normal art show because of Corona. But with appropriate precautions, it will still be cool. It’s my first time to be part of this event, I’m excited to see what happens!
