I am leaving for Seattle in 2 weeks. So, I am trying to clean and finish up as much as possible before I leave. I said goodbye to important people, dusted all my shelves, and am getting paperwork together. I also had an unfinished painting in the art room. I didn’t think I would get to it before I returned. But I ended up painting with a friend on Sunday. She is just learning how to paint, so she only stayed for a bit over an hour. But I realized: Either I can throw away lots of unused paint, or I can just finish the job. So, I stayed for about 5h. The painting might still get some touch-ups, but for the most part, it is now done. It shows a small town square in a village in Kakooge district, Uganda. So, I called the painting “Kakooge Center”. I based the painting on a photo. The bulky electric pole was what caught my attention. So, I chose a narrow format with exaggerated colors. One more thing done. But also one more time to just paint and have fun with it.

A New Painting before I go!
