A Trip to the Junk Yard!

My work normally focuses on oil painting. But when you are on spring break, you can try stuff. I still need to paint during the break, but yesterday I tried out the metal side of things and went to a huge junk yard. I bought the material I needed to continue making the desk I am working on. I was fascinated, among other things, by the fact that I had been driving by this huge place for almost 5 years without seeing it. As with many things, it’s easy to see if you know where to look…well now I know!

I took the metal to the art academy’s workshop and started to weld the pieces together. I didn’t finish the project yet, but it’s exciting to see the development. This table won’t be perfect, but it definetly will be sturdy. :)
